1870's COMMONS

The 1870's Commons set features 94 of the greatest players from 1871-1879. When stripped down you are left with the raw talent of an entire MLB decade. These players have emerged for a draft into your own league of competitive teams. The players featured in the Commons sets are not common by definition they simply supplement the Stars. After making the Stars there were still so many great players that belong in these otherwise incomplete disc sets. The talent and popularity of the remaining players influenced the expansion and creation of the Commons sets. The Commons sets provide the balance and flexibility needed to bring out the best in Cadaco All Star Baseball. Players chosen for this set were placed in their most productive or most played decade. Players picked are placed in the league that they played in most throughout their career. The players that were selected are at the position where they started the most career games.

The Commons sets have equal defensive position distribution so 4 teams can draft 25 players. Each team carries 9 pitchers and 2 hitters at each position based on an average MLB roster. For more balanced and comprehensive player sets combine the Commons with the Stars

1870's Commons set includes players from the NA from 1871-1875 and the sequential NL from 1876-1879. During the late 1900's when the pitchers were not scheduled to start they played other defensive positions. Pitching staffs of the 1870's teams were made complete by the hitters that pitched when they were needed. *We considered 1870's players pitchers if they pitched at least 25% of games started at their most played position. Since 1870's teams carried less pitchers on their roster this set is 4 pitchers short of the standard 100 player set.
